Information on Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute arising from a contract for the provision of legal services between an attorney and a consumer, the consumer has the right to turn to a body for out-of-court dispute resolution. This body is the Czech Bar Association. Details regarding the out-of-court resolution of such disputes can be found at www.cak.cz.

The client may exercise the right to out-of-court dispute resolution no later than one year from the first time a complaint was raised against the attorney. There is no fee for this process; each party bears its own costs associated with resolving the dispute.

In cases where the client acts as a natural person outside the scope of business activities, Act No. 634/1992 Coll. on Consumer Protection, as amended, also applies. Upon request, the attorney is required to issue a receipt for the service provided, stating the date. In the event of a complaint regarding legal services, the attorney is required to issue a document stating the date and content of the complaint, as well as the requested method of resolution.
